Fr. Tom Green, S.J., provincial of the Jesuits asked if St. Matthew could make Fr. Kevin Cullen, S. J available to work as the Country Director for the Jesuit Refugee Service in Thailand. After conversations with Fr. Kevin, we will be sending him off to work with the refugees in Thailand.
Fr. Timothy McMahon, S.J has been recommended for St. Matthew. News was received on Friday, that Fr. Tim will be joining as Pastoral Associate at St. Matthew. The transition will take place over the summer, and Fr. Kevin will be here with us to the end of the summer.
The Archbishop has reached a decision regarding the date for lifting the dispensation from Sunday obligation and Holy Days. Archbishop Rozanski is lifting the dispensation as of July 1, 2021. Our specific guidelines will be adapted during the summer.
Guidelines specific to St. Matthew Parish for resuming public Mass: Everyone enters the Church up the handicap ramp between the Church and the Parish Office/ Rectory. Our temperature will be taken and masks are asked to be worn. Each person will be directed to a place to sit. There are no processions in the Church. We will be given directions on how to exit the Church.
The Office/Rectory/Family Center are not open for meetings and all social gatherings are prohibited. We will continue to monitor progress and make adjustments, in order to keep everyone safe. We appreciate everyone's cooperation and anticipate adjustments along the way.
